Mission
Pilot project & installation.
OKQ8 has installed Energy Probe in more than a hundred refrigeration units and achieved annual cost savings of over SEK 422,000 — plus a CO₂ reduction of 11 tonnes.
As a pioneer in sustainability and energy efficiency, OKQ8 conducted an overhaul of its cooling systems at several stations. The company first tested Energy Probe at three pilot plants, and after seeing the impressive results, they expanded the installation to 51 stations -- from Östersund in the north to Trelleborg in the south.
The results exceeded expectations:

The pilot project also included a performance assessment of the compressors to map the efficiency of the system.
“" This was incredibly valuable in ensuring that our systems worked optimally before we rolled out the entire project, "” says Urban Liljegren, Property Manager at OKQ8.
The installations were completed in early 2021 and included 103 refrigeration units. According to Liljegren, there were two key factors that drove the decision to implement Energy Probe on a larger scale:
“" The pilot tests showed a significant difference, which gave us clear reference points for the savings potential. Another determining factor was the simplicity of the installation process. We were also very pleased with the pricing and service. Once we made the decision, the work was carried out quickly and efficiently. "”
In addition to energy and cost savings, Energy Probe has delivered additional benefits, including minimal downtime and basically no service visits.
